A little bit about me.
I first fell in love with golf as a caddy at the Wausau Country Club where I worked until I graduated from high school. After a few years in the real world, I returned to the Wausau CC where I spent four seasons as the assistant professional and started my career as a golf instructor. Next stop was three seasons at the Merrill Golf Club ending in 1993, when I was hired as the first PGA golf professional at the newly built Greenwood Hills CC . I enjoyed a wonderful 25 year stay until 2019 when I left to join the WGC Operations team as the golf professional for both the Trapp River and Tribute golf courses. This move brought me full circle as I grew up playing at these courses at the beginning of my golf career.
I am so pleased to be a partnered with the locally owned and operated public golf courses at Trapp River GC and Tribute GC. I spent many of my formative years learning to play golf at these two great courses and I am excited to be part of the team as we start major improvement projects at both courses that will position us as Wausau's best public golf facilities.
What is my instruction philosophy?
I have over 30 years of helping Wausau area players with their golf game, you can believe me when I say that I have seen it all! I enjoy working with players of all skill levels. It is my goal to look at each player as an individual and try to help them play THEIR best golf. The greatness of this game is that you do not have to be a highly skilled player to enjoy the benefits of playing golf. There is nothing greater than enjoying time with friends and family on the course.
Based on the findings of the USGA, the average male player in the US shoots about 44-49 for 9 hole and the average woman about 48-55. Whether you are scoring higher than the national average or you are at average level and wish to improve, I can help you reach that goal.
I enjoy working with juniors and we offer several instruction options from first timers to aspiring high school players. Besides instruction we offer juniors a great way to enter the competitive golf world through PGA Jr League (www.pgajrleague.com)
